The Granite Education Foundation is an instrument for philanthropy. Donors do not so much as give TO the Foundation as THROUGH it. Donors can support the broadest array of philanthropic educational programs and causes through the Foundation, suing a wide variety of assets. Permanent endowments can be established for as little as $5000.

The Foundation:

The Foundation, through its efforts, provides opportunities for donors to achieve their varied philanthropic goals, invest contributed funds prudently, and serves as a responsible steward for the charitable gifts of individuals, families and organizations. The funds are scrupulously protected by a series of checks and balances administered by independent accountants and auditors.

uniformThrough the grant making program, the Foundation is able to provide educators and students with much-needed assistance for programs and educational opportunities. The Mini-Grants for Teachers program offers a unique arrangement for district teachers to receive funding for projects not provided for in school budgets. The endowed scholarships provide assistance to a diverse student population.

The Granite Education Foundation works in ways to help the community and school district develop and implement strategies to support all students learning at high levels. These initiatives include and are not limited to:
  • Investing in teachers: Supporting excellent teaching and providing the ideas and venture capital to create great classrooms and support structure for all children.
  • Building civic and political will: Leading the charge of funding for an accountable, first-rate school system.
  • Mobilizing the community: Marshaling the talent and resources of business leaders, parents, citizens and commerce throughout the city to strengthen every school in every neighborhood.

The bottom line: It takes time, money and resources supplied by private individuals and businesses to affect the education of youth. By investing in children, individuals and business ensure the success of the future. There is no better way to promote a long-lasting legacy of service than by leading children through example.
